From Software Patent Prior Art Wiki

Welcome! This wiki is a start at a database describing prior art and obvious improvements for the benefit of United States Patent and Trademark Office patent examiners, descriptions of patents that are currently in effect (and when they expire), and helping Free Software and Open Source development methodology software writers to determine what they can do and can't do with their software.

Ideally, eventually this will also include information on what patents and patent claims have been freely licensed to the free software/open-source software communities.

Since there is a legal standard to be upheld with this database, there are some special rules that relate to how easily the USPTO can use this information. More detail will be forthcoming; right now, I'm just trying to get a template set out.
